History

After Desmond Silveira put out a call in the fall of 2016 for volunteers to run for the position of State Chair, the Georgia Chapter of the American Solidarity Party was officially organized under the leadership of Logan Jackson.

Mike Maturen obtained certified Write in access in GA as the presidential candidate for the American Solidarity Party in 2016.  The Maturen campaign received a total of 151 write in votes in the state of GA.

The first Executive Committee consisted of volunteers who attended the Georgia ASP Convention in January 2017. 

In 2018 Jackson stepped down from the role of State Chair to run for mayor of Bowdon, Georgia, and Vice Chair Clark McNabb assumed the role of Chair.

In November 2019 Jackson returned to chair the committee when McNabb moved out of state.

On May 22, 2020 Jackson resigned from his position as Chair, appointing Joshua Watson in his stead.

In May of 2020 the voting members of the State of Georgia conducted its first election for members of the state Executive Committee and the elected took office on July 1st, 2020. 

On September 26th 2020, the Executive Committee of the American Solidarity Party of Georgia met in session virtually and approved Georgia ASP’s first by-laws as a state chapter. The purpose of these by-laws is “to provide a framework for our chapter to grow here in Georgia to become a viable and needed alternative to the two-party system that has run our state for decades.”.

Brain Carroll obtained certified Write in access in GA as the presidential candidate for the American Solidarity Party in 2020.  The Carroll campaign received a total of 770 write in votes in the state of GA.
